In 'Matching the Hatch - Rainbow Trout', I chose to depict the beginning of a pale morning dun hatch; suggesting that while a parachute mayfly has invited the inspection of a smaller trout, it may take changing to a more specific fly pattern; such as a floating nymph or cripple, to deceive the big rainbow.
