About the Image

The Roan Antelope is one of the largest antelope in Africa. They are, in my, opinion, one of the most beautiful animals and with those crazy big ears they stand apart from other bovids. I enjoyed studying them in the Northern Cape near Douglas. The word Roan is a term used to describe their color. In this painting the herd is alerted to a crack of wood under my foot. They swiftly ran off but not too far because of their curious nature.
